Contact Lens prescriptionsContact lenses come in many designs and only an optometrist or eye specialist is qualified to know which lens is right for you.A spectacle prescription is not the same as a contact lens prescription and cannot be used to order contact lenses. Budget Eyewear Direct is unable to supply contact lenses to Australian or New Zealand customers without a valid contact lens prescription. In the event that Budget Eyewear does not have a copy of your latest prescription, you will be asked to provide a copy. Alternatively, at your request, Budget Eyewear Direct will be pleased to contact your Australian or New Zealand optometrist to obtain a copy of your prescription. Regular contact lens examinations are highly recommended to ensure that you are seeing as well as you can and that your eyes remain nice and healthy. Contact lens examinations are recommended every 12 months or sometimes more often if your Optometrist feels that this could be of benefit to you and your eyes. Please consult your Optometrist for the most appropriate examination schedule. During a contact lens follow-up examination, your Optometrist does a variety of tests. Firstly, they check your vision and prescription, ensuring that your correction is the best that they can possibly give you. Secondly, they undertake a variety of eye health checks, in particular they check the cornea (the front of the eye) with a microscope, checking how the contact lens has interacted with your eye. This is a very quick and painless procedure. It is also important that, even though you are a contact lens wearer, that you regularly have a general eye checkup also. This includes testing for glaucoma, looking at the back of the eye, and other general eye health checks. On occasions contact lens wearers can develop minor problems with their eye health, that may be picked up by optometrists during regular checks thus preventing more serious longer term complications. If you do not have a contact lens prescription, please visit a Budget Eyewear store or contact us to arrange a contact lens consultation. |
